    The Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department staff provides progressive leisure, organized sports, and cultural and educational programs to the township. It protects our natural resources and offers outdoor recreational opportunities to members of the community in a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment. The staff provides innovative and quality services to residents, businesses and service organizations in Shelby Township.

    Because they are so popular, some of the recreation offerings at the Shelby Township Activities Center have capacity limits. To ensure access to the activities and programs you want, we ask you to book your time via the link(s) below.     Senior Walking in the Parks: River Bends Park

    WALKING IN THE PARKS
    It’s finally time to get outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather at our beautiful parks! We will officially start our outdoor walking on Monday, May 4 at 9 a.m. We will be alternating through the following parks: 

    Heritage Garden

    • Located on the SE Corner of 24 Mile Road & Van Dyke Ave., behind the township Municipal Building

    Whispering Woods Park

    • South Side of 21 Mile Road between Van Dyke Ave. & M- 53

    Burgess-Shadbush Nature Center

    • River Bends Drive – East side of Ryan Road and North of Auburn Road

    River Bends Park

    • South side of 22 Mile Road between Shelby and Ryan Roads
