    The Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department staff provides progressive leisure, organized sports, and cultural and educational programs to the township. It protects our natural resources and offers outdoor recreational opportunities to members of the community in a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment. The staff provides innovative and quality services to residents, businesses and service organizations in Shelby Township.

    Because they are so popular, some of the recreation offerings at the Shelby Township Activities Center have capacity limits. To ensure access to the activities and programs you want, we ask you to book your time via the link(s) below.     Our second May lunch bunch will take us to beautiful Belle Isle. We’ll take a guided tour of the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, which opened in 1904. It is the oldest continually operating conservatory in the United States. After, we’ll take a driving tour of the island before departing for lunch at Waves in St. Clair Shores. Please choose from chicken bibb salad, lake perch, chicken piccata, or paradise burger at the restaurant. Finally, we’ll make a stop at Erma’s Frozen Custard on the way home. The cost includes bus transportation, guided tour of the conservatory, and lunch. Erma’s is on your own.
