The Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department staff provides progressive leisure, organized sports, and cultural and educational programs to the township. It protects our natural resources and offers outdoor recreational opportunities to members of the community in a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment. The staff provides innovative and quality services to residents, businesses and service organizations in Shelby Township.

Because they are so popular, some of the recreation offerings at the Shelby Township Activities Center have capacity limits. To ensure access to the activities and programs you want, we ask you to book your time via the link(s) below. Shelby Township Art Fair

The Shelby Township Art Fair will be celebrating its 42nd anniversary in 2025. Mark your calendar for Aug. 9-10! The fair, which is co-hosted by Shelby Township and the Art Fair Committee and the Shelby Township Parks and Recreation Department and supported by generous sponsors, provides a great experience for over 15,000 visitors who come from near and far each year to enjoy the weekend’s festivities.  This includes over 120 artist and marketplace vendors.  There is also tasty food, musical entertainment, a kid’s craft and activity area, and more.

The Art Fair Committee is excited to announce the return of the fair at the beautiful River Bends Park.  Entry and parking is free at this location which provides a large area for exhibitors and entertainment, lots of free parking in the lot at the park, and additional free parking nearby with convenient free shuttle buses.  This lovely park with plenty of mature trees, flat grassy areas, and three pavilions has been a favorite place to hold special events for years.
