    The Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department staff provides progressive leisure, organized sports, and cultural and educational programs to the township. It protects our natural resources and offers outdoor recreational opportunities to members of the community in a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment. The staff provides innovative and quality services to residents, businesses and service organizations in Shelby Township.

    Because they are so popular, some of the recreation offerings at the Shelby Township Activities Center have capacity limits. To ensure access to the activities and programs you want, we ask you to book your time via the link(s) below.     Family Fun Day: Winter Survival (Age 5+)

    During this unique family day out, you will learn basic outdoor skills necessary to survive a snowy night in the woods! We will go over best practices for being prepared on the trail, how to build a fire and shelter, and how to make a nutritious tea from pine needles.  We will finish by roasting hot dogs over a campfire. Children ages 5 and older. Pre-registration required; program starts promptly at 1 p.m. $3 per resident / $5 per non-resident.
