    The Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department staff provides progressive leisure, organized sports, and cultural and educational programs to the township. It protects our natural resources and offers outdoor recreational opportunities to members of the community in a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment. The staff provides innovative and quality services to residents, businesses and service organizations in Shelby Township.

    Because they are so popular, some of the recreation offerings at the Shelby Township Activities Center have capacity limits. To ensure access to the activities and programs you want, we ask you to book your time via the link(s) below.     39th Annual Art Fair

    Mark your calendar for Aug. 13-14 to stop by Shelby Township’s River Bends Park for the 39th Annual Shelby Township Art Fair.
    In addition to fabulous art from more than 100 national, regional and local artists and artisans, the fair features crafts and products from Michigan-based businesses. The festivities include family-friendly entertainment.
     
    Bring the family for a day filled with activities and entertainment, and bring home a unique piece of art, a hand-made item, or another souvenir from your visit.
    Entry is free. The new location at River Bends Park at 5700 22 Mile Road has lots of free parking.
     
    After shopping, stroll more than 720 acres of parkland at River Bends Park and enjoy amenities such as playscapes, horseshoe pits, a 27-hole disc golf course, a barrier-free playground, and hike and bike trails. Spend the whole weekend enjoying southeast Michigan's largest municipal park.
     
    This event is presented by the Shelby Township Art Fair Committee, hosted by the Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department and supported by its generous sponsors.
